South Suburban PADS is an interfaith program providing shelter and supportive services to homeless persons. Compassion, hospitality and dignity are key characteristics of the PADS program.

Act Out Now has arranged three service-learning opportunities—with the help of a friend and long-time volunteer—to the PADS shelter located at the Southwest Alliance Korean Church. This is an overnight men’s shelter in Palos Hills. (Homelessness exists even in affluent suburbs.) There is only room for three to participate at the shelter from our group, given the size and current group of volunteers. Your time at the shelter, should you decide to volunteer, will include setting up, preparing and serving food to the men. Volunteers should be mature and responsible.

Dates: Monday, March 4; Monday, April 1; Monday, April 8
Time: 6:30 PM – 9:30 PM
Location: Southwest Alliance Korean Church at 9855 S Kean Ave Palos Hills, IL 60465
